ABOUT HENRIETTA
Our Story
The Beginning
Henrietta Soaps began in the local market of Queenstown, New Zealand, where Henrietta sold her natural soaps and creams to locals and travellers alike. These early products were crafted from recipes passed down through generations of her family — simple formulations rooted in tradition and care.
1984 - A New Chapter
In 1984, driven by a desire to travel and explore the world, Henrietta made the decision to sell her treasured recipes to a local businessman from Dunedin. With that sale, Henrietta Soaps Limited was formally established.
Growth & Expansion
In 1992, the business changed hands once again when a Dunedin couple purchased the company. Under their stewardship, the product range expanded significantly and the brand grew in popularity throughout New Zealand and overseas.
2016 - A New Era
In 2016, Henrietta Soaps entered a new chapter when Dunedin pharmacist Paul Larson acquired the business. With a strong background in pharmacy and formulation, Paul brought a renewed focus on quality ingredients, responsible sourcing, and sustainable production practices.
Today
Today, Henrietta Soaps continues to honour its heritage while embracing thoughtful innovation — partnering with local suppliers, investing in environmentally conscious packaging, and creating products designed to be trusted, used, and returned to time and again.
More than four decades on, the spirit of those original market days remains at the heart of everything we do.
